Global Cardboard Challenge

Elyria, OH

United States

The Child Care Resource Center and Lorain County Community College are hosting a Global Cardboard Challenge. The event will be held at Lorain County Community College Family Fest on Saturday, October 12 from noon – 5:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

We are excited and encourage participants to bring paper towel rolls, fasteners, “S hooks” and other found objects to decorate your boxes. It is designed to encourage creativity among children, without the pressure of wanting to win a prize. Participants can work individually or with other families.

The purpose is to foster play through creativity, problem solving and exploration. Most of all we want to have FUN!!

Inviting The World To Play

This fall, the Imagination Foundation invites the world to participate in our 2nd Annual Global Cardboard Challenge.

Inspired by the short film, ‘Caine’s Arcade,’ the Global Cardboard Challenge is a worldwide celebration of child creativity and the role communities can play in fostering it. In the month of September, kids are challenged to create and build using cardboard, recycled materials and imagination. Then on October 5th, 2013 (the anniversary of the flash mob that came out to make Caine’s day in the short film) communities all around the world will come together and play!

Here are a few resources to help you host an awesome Cardboard Challenge.
